Hi and welcome everyone. Halloween is just around the corner and I too have made a few cards; starting with the Count Halloween card. I´m so in love with Tim Holtz new dies and distress mica stains! My daughter´s after-school teachers are having a Halloween party for the kids at the end of the week. Nice and scary in the evening with a lot of decoration, yummy food, fun and a lot of boos. As a small thank you the teacheers will get the cards.
Making the Card
To make the background a little more interesting I used the moon layering masks (as always, you can find the complete supply list at the end). I used the tiniest mask and stuck the full moon mask with sticky grit on the background and then sprayed the background with shaded lilac, hocus pocus, empty tomb and black soot. Then I carefully dabbed the stain from the stencil to removed it. After that, I sprayed some water over the moon to let the color run slightly into the moon and dried it with a heat tool. Subsequent the details of the moon I had brushed in with the second mask, blending brushes and distress oxide old paper.
I thought the count allone was too little for the halloween card. So I gave him some companions: a raven and some bats. The raven was from the vault series as is the fence. Both I sprayed with empty tomb and a bit of frosted juniper.
The banner was cut from mixed media cardstock which I sprayed with vintage photo and brushed corduroy. Then I embossed Tim Holtz´s simple sayings trick or treat with Versamark ink and WOW black grint embossing powder. To give the banner some dimension I bent it just before the endings.
The Count itself is die cut and layered from different cardstock. Some parts I had accented with vintage photo. With the clouds I had Bob Ross words in my mind: tiny little clouds are floating in the sky. In the past, episodes of Bob Ross The joy of Painting show were broadcast during nighttime. That was ideal to calm down after the disco.
And here again the finished card. I had so much fun making this card.
Thanks so much for stopping by!
