Hi everyone! Today I made this cute Birthday Card – Flower Bear for my mom´s birthday by using Tim Holtz´s gorgous Theodore.
First I started with the bear Theodore. I always search my scrap folder first for matching pieces and colors. If I do not find there (completely) I go over to my regular paper supply. Then I cut all parts of the bear with my Sizzix BigShot Plus and my magnetic platform and accented the edges with vintage photo distress ink. Afterwards I assembled Theodore.
Then I cut out the bouquet from Jen Long´s floral layers #2. I thought the small buds were the best size for Theodore. So I cut them from lilac and purple cardstock and puzzeled the teeny tiny bits together with my crystal picker pen. Over the two branches I glued a red bow from the winter wardrobe set.
For the background I chose a green chevron pattern paper from BoBunny´s Primrose collection, cut the edges with my deckle edge trimmer and accented the edges with Distress ink vintage photo. The “Happy birthday” I stamped on a cut banner from Tim´s vault series: Halloween 2021. I had a banner left from the Halloween cards I´ve done last year (see The Count).
After that, I only had to mount the bear on top of the background. I added some dimension with foam tape and foam squares. Both are not the same hight. The foam squares are a bit higher. This was qzite suitable for my card, so the bouquet stands out a little more than Theodore.
This is my finished card for today. I hope I could inspire you and you like the card.
Thanks for stopping by!
