Hi everyone! I Hope you all are well. This time I tried something new for me. I wanted to make a colorful but simple card with some Dylusions ink sprays. For this card, I grabbed the “You color my world” stamp from my my stash.
Last summer, I ordered some Dylusions ink sprays and played with the colors. I kept all these colorful papers for later projects. Now was the time to turn some of them into a card. All colors are so incredible vibrant!
First I took some Dylusions colored cardstock with a yellow and orange combinaton. I tried to cut the parts with Tim Holtz Funky Nature feather dies and match parts with some contrast in colors.
Then I chose a background that I normally wouldn´t choose, but somehow it matched and I wanted to try something new. A little step out of my comfort zone 🙂 . I trimmed the edges with my deckle trimmer and glued it to the cardbase.
Sentiment stripe
After that, I measured a strip of white cardstock and stamped the “you color my world” sentiment in black ink on the bottom. The white stripe extends fro the lower edge of the card to the upper one. To make the white stipe to stand out better, I added some foam tape on the back. In order to have a little wiggle room, I applied some liquid glue to the foam tape. Then I mounted it in the midlle of the card.
On top of my white sentiment element I placed the two feathers and glued them to it.
To be honest, I often felt uncomfortable with the color choice while making the card and it´s not one of my best cards. However, I think it´s important to challenge yourself from time to time and dare to do something new.
I hope you had fun with this colorful card and thanks for stopping by!
