Hi everyone! My last card for this christmas season is my christmas card Winifred for my lovely neighbor. She´s a very special friend I can count on any time!
I asked my daughter, which one of the cute colorize animals from Tim Holtz I should make for this card. She immediately decided on the zebra, but wanted to rename it Zara.
Die cuts for Christmas Card Winifred
For most of the cutting dies I used paper scraps from my scraps folder. In this folder the scraps are sorted by color. If I don´t have a specific cardstock color I color existing cardstock with Distress ink or in this case Distress oxide ink pumice stone with my blender brush.
On the back of the cutting dies are already lasered color suggestions. Who needs more help to put the colorize cuties together can find how-to videos from Sizzix and others on Youtube.
I cut a scarf and a hat to give Winifred a little more christmas spirit. I had to adjust the scarf a bit with siccors to fit around the zebra neck. As decoration for the scarf I have put on dots with Stickles Cool Mint. Winifred wears the cap so that her ears still peek out.
After that I took care of the background and punched the fir trees out of the thin ice set. The edges of the fir I had accentuated with Distress ink vintage photo. The snow from this set I replaced with grit paste snowfall and let it dry.
Then I cut a little christmas tree and a present from the festive things set. I brushed the christmas tree with Distress oxide mowed lawn, rustic wilderness and pine needle to get a little bit more interest. From a leftover glittercardstock I cut out the garlands for the christmas tree and decorated it with Stickles christmas red and let it dry. On top of the christmas tree I put a star from the Vault Series: Christmas 2021. Next I cut the present from red cardstock and added some vintage photo for shadows. The ribbon I cut from gold cardstock.
Background Christmas Card Winifred
After all parts were dry I positioned everything on a cardpanel and realized that the background still nedded some color without distracting from the die cuts. I placed Tim Holtz Stampers anonymous layering stencil peppermint over the background panel and brushed some Distress oxide ink tumbled glass. Then I cut the edges with my deckle trimmer and addes some Distress ink vintage photo to help the background to stand out against the white card.
After that I stamped Simon Says Stamp Merry Christmas stamp with Distress Archival ink hickory smoke to the panel and glued the trees to it.Then I added some foam tape to Winifred and placed her on top of my sentiment.
I had slightly overestimated the space for the christmas tree, the present and the sentiment, now the bow of the present covers slightly the sentiment.
Last I decorated the white parts of Winifred´s cap with crystal Stickles.
I hope you enjoyed todays card!
I wish you all a merry christmas. May all your wishes come true.
