Hi everyone! I already made these Sorry for your loss cards last year and unfortunately I had to send them out.
Candlelight
First I cut out all the individual parts of the lantern and the thick candle with my Sizzix BigShot plus. Then I assambled the lantern. The edges of the candle I accented with some Distress ink antique linen. After assembling the candle I addes some Glossy Accents. For the glass of the lantern I used some mica tiles.
I cut the back of the lantern from vellum. Wtih the candle I measured out the height of the flame to brush on candlelight with some Distress ink mustard seed and a blender brush.
Leafes – Sorry for your loss version
For the leafes I sprayed some Mica Stain empty tomb, frosted juniper and a hint of Spray Stain fossilized amber on a sheet of watercolor cardstock. To mix the colors I sprayed some water on them and moved the paper for an organic flow of color. Then I dried the cardstock with my heat tool. Before I cut out the leaves with the impresslits I sprayed the back of the watercolor cardstock with some water. This helps to make the embossing more detailed and helps against tears in the paper.
Background and Sentiment
I chose the maroccan mosaic for a kind of background because there is no start or end. It is endless. I cut it from white and black cardstock, so I could make two cards at once. My sentiment I cut 3 times out of the same cardstocks and stacked them on top of each other.
Assembly
I added some glue on the back of the Maroccan Mosaic and put it on my background panel. Then I arranged the leafes around the lantern and glued them also to the panel. At least I addes the sentiment.
