Hi all, I made a quick & easy birthday card for one of my daughters after-school teachers, so I grabbed some Altenew stamps, dies and embossing powder and alkohol markers.
I started my background by stamping a diamond grid with Versamark and added gold embossing powder. A pastel card would be fine for the teacher. To make my main element stand out a bit more I applied some tumbled glass oxide ink with a blending brush.
The flower and leafes I stamped in black ink. Since I first wanted to try out whether coloring with alcohol markers suits me at all, I decided to use the cheaper Ohuhu markers. First I applied the lightest color and work my way to my darkest color. Then I blended the colors by going back to my lightest color. The flower I have colored in light pink tones with small purple accents.
As senitment, I used a Lawn Fawn stamp and also the gold embossing powder. To give my card more dimension, I applied some 3D foam squares.
My grid element was slightly smaller than my card base. I took some cardstock to match the size of my card base and I applied only the embossing ink pad over a small strip at the edge – the center is covered by the grid element. For the embossing I used the same embossing powder as for the grid and the sentiment.
The last thing I did was to mount all the elements on my card base. Here is my quick & easy birthday card:
