Hi everyone! My daughter really wanted to give her teacher a card and so I made some Fresh Baked Christmas Cards.
First of all I took Tim Holtz Fresh Baked #1 dies and cut out the cookie base from craft cardstock and added some “crust” with Distress ink vintage photo to the edges.
Then I took some leftover pieces from my scrap folder and cut the embellishments and stacked them together. Afterwards I thought about making the “icing” parts shine with some glossy accents. I decided against it and made the light reflections with white Arteza gel pen on the decoration of the cookies.
I still lacked the right idea for the finished card design, so I played a bit with different design papers and the cookies on a card base. After a while the card slowly came together…
Even though I was finally halfway satisfied with the arrangement of the parts, there was still something missing. The fresh baked christmas card still looked a bit plain. So I took my blender brush and added some Distress Oxide ink tumbled glass on the top of the card. I searched for a sentiment stamp in my stash that fitted between the cookies and I decided for Simon Says Stamp Season of Joy. For the sentiment I stamped the merry christmas with Lawn Fawn blue jay ink on white cardstock and trimmed it. After that I glued the designpaper on the base panel and stacked the sentiment in the middle of this strip.
Afterwards I glued my fresh baked and delicious looking cookies on the card base. Finally, I had to mount the base panel to my cardbase and the fresh baked christmas card was finished.
I hope you enjoyed my card and I will see you soon!
