Hi everyone! Today I´m sharing my first shaker card ever. For my girls twin friends I made a Happy Birthday Shaker Card.
I started to cut the frame out of designed cardstock with my Sizzix BigShot plus and the We R memory keepers Album MADE EASY INSTAGRAM die. After that I could measure and cut the background with the photo frame from Neenah cardstock 110 lbs and placed it in my MISTI. I aligned the stamp in the cut out area and stamped it wtih Gina K Design amalgam ink. This ink works well with alcohol markers. To make sure the ink was dry I had dried it with my heat tool.
Copic coloring the Happy Birthday Shaker Card Girls
For coloring I used Copic marker. I´m still a beginner with alcohol markers, so I´m following the color suggestions of the stamp manufacturers. I also use the coloring sheet by Sandy Allnock.
Here are the Copic Sketch colors I used for the Happy Birthday Shaker Card Girls:
Skin: E00, E11, E93
Hair blond: E50, E53, E55, E57
Hair brunette: E97, E99, E39, E59, E21
Dress purple: V000, V12, V15, V17. Lace: BV000, BV00, W0, W1
Dress mint: BG11, BG32, BG34, BG57. Lace: BG000, BG01, W0, W1. Hearts: V01
I added some Simon Says Stamp Accetate to the back of frame and stamped Lawn Fawns How you bean? Happy Birthday on the front. After that I doubled 3M foam tape and cut it into thin strips and glued them to the back of the frame. Against the static charge of the accetate and so that the Sequins don´t stick to the glue I used antistatic powder. Then I filled some of the Pegasus sequins from Buttons Galore & More into the shaker window. I closed the back of the shaker window with the copic colored background.
Then I cut a strip of striped design paper and glued it in the center of my card base. The last thing I did was to mount the shaker element on the card.
