Hi and welcome to my blog.
My name is Sandra and I am from Munich, Germany.
I love to create cards and stuff, so I want you to take you on my creative journey. So let´s start.
Today I received my art journal from Art by Marlene by Studio Light. This journal is a ringbinder with realy thick watercolor paper. So this paper grabs a lot of medium.
Background for my artjournal page
To start with my first page I grabbed my Dina Wakley Gloss Sprays in the colors Mineral, Marine and Night. These sprays are acrylic sprays which does not mix when you spray them overlapping. This creates an interesting background without a lot of effort.
For any spray activities I like to use an old box to reduce my mess to a minimum.
After the background is dried, I used Tim Holtz stencil THS132 with Distress paint picket fence to create some stars in my sky.
For more stars, I dripped Tim Holtz Distress Mica Stain flickering candle over my page. There I had some issues because the stain could not grab on the acrylic background. Next time I will use some acrylic paint instead.
Centerpiece
For my centerpiece I chose the Sizzix die 665035 Moon & Back from Pete Hughes. I had some distress oxide sprayed watercolor cardstock in my stash and cut the pieces from it. For the stars and the lantern I used aluminum foil paper by Best Creation Inc. I added a touch of vintage photo distress ink by Tim Holtz for a little bit of pop.
I used Foam Squares for more depth.
For the word “dream” I chose Sizzix die 664407 Alphanumeric Tiny Type Lower and for “big” Sizzix die 665207 Alphanumeric Stretch Lower & Numbers, both by Tim Holtz. I didn´t want to let these words float in the air and glued them to thin strips of white cardstock. I paintet the white cardstock over with vintage photo ink.
For my last step I addes some highlights with my uni-ball sigma white pigment ink pen and darkened the sides of my page with distress vintage photo inkpad and distress black sooth inkpad.
And here are some details from my finished artjournal page:
I hope you you liked this page and check in for more projekts.
See you,
Sandra
